This 11x17” map is based on research by James and Mary Dawson in the 1940s, preserved by the Southwest Arkansas Regional Archive (SARA) in Old Washington, Arkansas. SARA is part of the Arkansas Historical Commission. Through years of research, this map reflects information on the location of the trail from the Original Texas Land Surveys. The map is beautifully detailed by Nancy Tiller. This map is also engraved into a 4’ tall granite marker erected by the Daughters of the Republic of Texas in Nacogdoches.
